The story behind Niki

Patterns can be subtle.Your feelings still matter.

Amanda founded Niki to make a difficult, deeply human problem easier to see: what happens when one confusing moment becomes a pattern, and how can you find clarity without losing yourself in it?

Amanda · Founder and operator

I have lived through the kind of mixed signals that are easy to explain away one moment at a time. The details can look small. The stress is real. By the time a pattern repeats, memory has often blurred what happened after each conversation.

I am building Niki so people can name what they observed, honor how it felt, leave room for uncertainty, and notice whether words become changed behavior. Your feelings are valid signals about impact and needs. Understanding them can bring more peace, self-trust, and healthier choices that remain your own.

Background
Software engineer, AI researcher, and builder studying Computer Science and Statistics at the University of Toronto.
Focus
Human-centered technology, evidence-minded product design, and tools that help people think more clearly.
Connect

Independent expertise belongs in the room.

Niki is opening these roles to people who will challenge the work, strengthen its boundaries, and keep user wellbeing ahead of easy answers.

Clinical safety advisor

Role open

Review product language, escalation boundaries, and claims before any sensitive analysis ships.

Privacy & security reviewer

Role open

Threat-model relationship memory, retention, export, deletion, device access, and model-processing choices.

Lived-experience review

Panel forming

Paid, consent-based review that includes different genders, orientations, and relationship structures.

Three founder commitments already in force.

  1. 01

Show where a claim came from—and what the source cannot prove.

  2. 02

Separate what a person observed, felt, inferred, and still does not know.

  3. 03

Treat private relationship memory as high-risk data, not a growth asset.
